Victorian Cape May-All the Holiday and Glitter

December 16-17, 2024

Travel back in time to the Victorian days of Cape May. Settle in for a night to enjoy all Cape May has to offer. Your journey will begin with a delicious lunch at the Cape May Lobster House before an enchanted tour of the Southern Mansion. The tour includes the history of the mansion and tales of its rescue and restoration. You will see all the common areas of the house as well as two guest rooms depending upon availability. You will check in to the Grand Hotel and enjoy a welcome dinner in the dining room. Top the evening off with a Christmas Caper, ‘Tis the Season. The Harrison children have poured their attention into planning every last detail for their parent’s annual Christmas party, but when an heirloom necklace goes missing, the entire holiday season is threatened! Can you help the family find the missing jewels, or will this Christmas season go down as the worst one yet? You will step inside Cape May’s Victorian House Museum, the 1879 Physick House Museum, and encounter the characters as this original story unfolds. Don’t miss stepping into this holiday story in this very special Cape May setting. After you solve the mystery you will board the trolley for a Holiday Lights Trolley Ride. Who can resist the twinkle of Cape May’s beautiful streetscapes and Victorian homes decorated for Christmas? Experience an evening trolley ride through Cape May and enjoy a front row view of Cape May’s holiday decorations. Listen to your guide and learn about exterior holiday decorations, wassailing/caroling, the evolution of Santa, traditions of gift givers and the history of Christmas. Trolleys are open-air, dress accordingly. The following day you enjoy breakfast at the hotel and step on the bus for a Cape May Point tour. Travel through West Cape May to the tip of Cape May’s peninsula, which is one of the most celebrated migratory locations in North America. Entering Cape May Point State Park, you can view our fully restored Lighthouse, built in 1859. Then, it’s onto Sunset Beach where the sunken ship “Atlantus” is still visible, and you’ll enjoy a short shopping stop. Time allows for you to enjoy shopping and lunch at Washington Mall, Cape May’s picturesque town square lined with unique shopping, dining, and more. The heart of America’s Original Seaside Resort! Finally, you will have the opportunity to indulge in the festive season with a delightful daytime self-guided walking tour. The Holiday Inns Tour grants you access to four charming Cape May properties adorned with holiday decorations such as sugarlands, bows, and Christmas trees. Immerse yourself in the holiday spirit as you explore these iconic properties in Cape May. A trolley shuttle will make a continuous loop during this self-guided afternoon tour.
