About this trip

Saratoga Horse Race, Lake George, Wine and More

August 12-15, 2024

Begin your trip in a charming, historic town nestled in New York’s scenic Hudson Valley. Rhinebeck, NY. is located just east of the Hudson River, with majestic views of the Catskill Mountains. Enjoy free time exploring the tree-lined streets with unique independent specialty shops offering apparel, home furnishings, books and gifts. Group lunch is included at a local Tavern.  After checking in to your hotel you will have the opportunity to explore Main St of Saratoga for dinner on your own. The following morning you will enjoy a tour of the Oklahoma Training track. Find out why this beautiful and historic site, located across the street from Saratoga Race Course, is a favorite base for leading trainers such as Todd Pletcher, Chad Brown, Shug McGaughey, Nick Zito, and many others. A tour through the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame sets you on an incredible journey through the sport’s history, from colonial times through present day. Surrounded by incredible works of fine art, trophies, and historical artifacts, visitors experience all aspects of this thrilling sport, from its most iconic moments and pageantry to what happens behind the scenes during a day at the races. The Museum’s signature film, What It Takes: Journey to the Hall of Fame is a 16-minute immersive experience that brings viewers on an amazing journey through the sport and examines the rare honor — given to less than one percent its participants — of reaching the game’s pinnacle and earning a coveted spot in the Hall of Fame. The cutting-edge film conveys the exhilaration of the sport of thoroughbred racing in America and the passion behind the heritage of the game. Travel to Lake George for time to explore the lakeside stores and sights.   Hop aboard the Steamboat for the most thorough way to explore Lake George. As you cruise across the water, you'll benefit from unobstructed views of the Adirondacks and historical homes, and escape the crowds on land. Plus, onboard narration puts lakeside landmarks into context. Dinner will be enjoyed on board. The next day you will spend the afternoon at the historic Saratoga Race Course inside the historic Victorian Grandstand, where you will enjoy the races in reserved seats! Lunch on your own at the track. End the evening with wine tasting and dinner at a local Winery. As we travel back to NJ on the last day a stop will be made in Cold Springs, NY. If you’re looking for the quintessential Hudson Valley experience, Cold Spring is an absolute wonderland. With cozy cafés, riverside views, and artisanal shops, the waterfront town delights day trippers and locals alike.
