Lancaster’s Got it All

Brewery, Buggy, Buchanan and more…

November 3-5, 2025 

Day one will include a wonderful Farm to Table meal and wine tasting at the beautiful Mount Hope Estate. Check into the new Hershey Farm Resort Hotel before a fun interactive murder mystery dinner at Bubes Brewery. (and this place is haunted) Bubes Brewery has a rich history dating back to the mid-1800s. Founded by German immigrant Alois Bube, it evolved from a small brewery to a complex including a hotel and a restaurant, surviving both fire and Prohibition.  The following day you will tour President John Buchanan’s Wheatland Estate for a guided tour and gardens. You will travel both floors of the home and discuss the lives of Buchanan and his family that occupied the home. The tour is unique in that there are few room barriers, allowing visitors to stand in the spaces once frequented by a former president and his family. After the tour you will have free time for lunch and shopping at the Lancaster Central Market before a visit to an Amish Store. Finally, dinner at White Chimney’s Founding Fathers for an evening with an easy walking tour through the 19th century Italianate garden. You will visit with the resident Scottish Highlander cows, donkey, and the comical goats or sit by the lily pond and watch the koi lazily swim among the water fountains. Following the time in the garden, you will enter the renovated tobacco barn for a beautifully catered meal. Day three enjoy a farm and cookie tour on an Amish buggy ride with a stop at a local farm. Before heading home, you will visit a Gourd Farm to see thousands of gourds in all shapes and sizes custom painted for your home and garden. Lunch included before ICECREAM! Make your own flavor at Turkey Hill Experience and enjoy an ice cream and iced tea tasting! What a sweet ending to a great getaway.
