What an adventure we have planned for you! We will begin our journey with a Brewery Tour, Taste and Lunch in York enroute to Gettysburg. Next it’s all aboard for a one hour scenic train ride to Glen Rock, PA. Finally, we will head to Gettysburg to check in to our hotel before a dinner at the Mansion House 1757. Enjoy a delicious dinner in a historic setting. Following breakfast the next day, you will arrive at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center with the introductory film and Cyclorama. This fantastic painting brings the fury of the final Confederate assault on July 3, 1863 to life, providing the viewer with a sense of what occurred at the battle long touted as the turning point of the Civil War. After the museum, Hop aboard the bus for a two hour battlefield guided tour. Enjoy a catered lunch at the Gettysburg Beyond the Battle Concourse. Explore the Beyond the Battle Museum which tells the remarkable story of Gettysburg civilians and their extraordinary experiences before, during, and after the Civil War. Through twelve interactive exhibit galleries packed with rare artifacts, the museum, recently named USA Today’s “Best New Museum,” explores the story of Gettysburg like you’ve never seen or heard it before. Don’t miss Caught in the Crossfire, the museum’s premier exhibit. After the amazing experience you will experience a guided tour of the Shriver House Museum. Travel back in time with a guide dressed in period attire as you walk through the Shrivers’ meticulously restored 1860 home to learn the other side of the Battle of Gettysburg - how families and their homes were affected before, during, and after the battle that ravaged this historic town. Time allowed to browse the town of Gettysburg on your own before dinner at the Historic Dobbin House. Dine in Gettysburg PA’s Oldest, Most Historic Home “…Beautifully and Authentically Restored” and open to the public as a colonial restaurant. Your day will wind up with a Ghostly Images Ghost Tour, Haunted Orphanage. 90 minute walking tour indoor and outdoor inside the historic National Soldiers Orphanage Homestead. After breakfast the last day, enjoy the Jennie Wade House Tour. Authentically furnished from cellar to attic, the museum is not only a shrine to a heroic martyr but has become a museum of life during the American Civil War. On your way out of town you will Visit Mister Ed’s Elephant Museum and Candy Emporium. Featuring the largest collection of elephants & areas best selection of candy and the Historic Round Barn & Farm Market. Shop and browse the seasonal specialties available in this one of a kind barn built in 1914. Enjoy lunch on your own with a $10 lunch voucher at the Thirsty Farmer. Arrive at the Hollabaugh Bros. Fruit Farms and Market. Enjoy a deluxe dumpling wagon tour, Bee Room presentation, apple dumpling demo, wagon ride through the orchard, apple picking, apple cider & apple cider donut samples and take home apple dumpling!
