Start your Celebration of the 250th Anniversary of America at the ALL YOU CAN BUFFET at the NORDIC LODGE. Today, over 60 years and 4 generations later, we graciously host guests from all over the world and you’ll find the same family running the day to day operations of the restaurant. The following day embark on a guided tour of Boston that includes a harbor cruise with the best views of these fine ships! Enjoy commentary about the ships, the harbor and Boston’s part in the history of our country! On board you will enjoy a lunch buffet. Disembark and have lunch on your own and time to EXPLORE the TALL SHIPs. In the midafternoon, visit the BOSTON TEA PARTY SHIPS AND MUSEUM. You will have a personal “colonial character” guide you through the BOSTON TEA PARTY SHIPS & MUSEUM. Meet “Sam Adams” and participate in the re-enactment of the destruction of the tea. Board a tall ship and marvel at one of only two known surviving tea crates. DINNER on your own this evening at QUINCY MARKET. For over 250 years the marketplace has played an integral role in the life of Boston’s residents. You will feel the cobblestones beneath your feet, see roaming performers and be able to taste the wonderfully diverse ethnic foods available to you. There are 100 shops, carts and artisans to offer treasures for you to take home with you! You will have time to visit FANEUIL HALL, which has served as a meeting hall and a place where merchants can market their wares since 1742. Return to your hotel after dinner. The following morning visit the CHARLESTOWN NAVY YARD where you will see the USS CONSTITUTION aka OLD IRONSIDES. “Located in the Charlestown Navy Yard, the USS Constitution was launched in Boston on October 21st, 1797 and is the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world. Today, she is manned by an active-duty U.S. Navy Crew. You will have time to visit the CONSTITUTION VISITOR’S CENTER with memorabilia and gifts and the USS CONSTITUTION MUSEUM, a private, non-profit museum which includes a theatre, over 3,000 historical artifacts, interactive exhibits and a gift shop. Enjoy a Self-guided tour of the USS CASSIN YOUNG a World War II Navy destroyer and visit the USS CONSTITUTION MUSEUM. Next travel through Lexington and Concord en-route to Concord's Colonial Inn. Hear about “the Battles of Lexington and Concord were the first major military engagements of the American Revolutionary War. They took place on April 19, 1775 in the towns of Lexington, Concord, Lincoln…and Cambridge, Massachusetts.” LUNCH at CONCORD’S COLONIAL INN. Today includes a narrated driving tour of HARVARD UNIVERSITY and CAMBRIDGE, the unique town that is home to the college. HISTORIC BOSTON HIGHLIGHTS TOUR featuring parts of the FREEDOM TRAIL. Your guide will point out sights along the Freedom Trail as well as the Boston Common and Public Gardens, the Back Bay, Beacon Hill, and the gold-domed State House. DINNER included this evening at a local restaurant. Enjoy your last evening at the beautiful Encore Hotel. NOTE: ALL PERSONS AGE 18 AND OLDER MUST PRESENT A STATE-ISSUED PHOTO I.D. OR PASSPORT TO ENTER THE NAVY YARD.
